I took the MPRE exam last friday (the ethics portion of the CO Bar exam), which was quite a sobering experience. I was expecting a walk in the park, judging from my scores with practice tests; however, it seemed substantially more difficult than any of the practice tests I took.
That said, I did take it on a Friday afternoon after a VERY long week of work, I didn't eat anything for breakfast that morning, plus it's been a while since I've taken any kind of standardized test (3 years - LSAT). Perhaps that had something to do with my difficulties.
I'll receive the scores in a month, so then we'll know if there is any reason for my worries. Either way I think this experience was a blessing in that now I think I will be quite a bit more sober in my preparation for February's Bar exam.
